Sustainability

Discover what we are doing for a sustainable future at Corso Hotel Pécs!

Our hotel is committed to sustainable and responsible operations, ensuring our guests enjoy a high-quality experience while minimizing our ecological footprint.

We believe that preserving the environment and supporting the local community are integral parts of what we do every day.

What does sustainability mean to us?

Member of the Accent Hotels chain

Our hotel is part of the Accent Hotels chain, which in 2024 was recognized as Hungary's most attractive employer in the HORECA sector by the Randstad Employer Brand Research.
This survey reflects the opinions of over 7,000 employees and evaluates ten key factors, including an attractive work environment, career development opportunities, competitive benefits, and employee recognition.

Our chain provides numerous training opportunities for employees, fostering growth. Many young talents, middle managers, and hotel directors have built successful careers with us.

Energy-Efficient Solutions

We use modern LED lighting, motion sensors, and energy-efficient equipment to reduce energy consumption and optimize operations.

In 2024, we replaced our 2010 liquid chiller responsible for the hotel’s air conditioning system with a more energy-efficient and effective model, significantly reducing energy use.

 Solar Heating

On our hotel roof, we have installed 30 solar collectors, which significantly contribute to our hot water supply. This innovation saves 54,964 kWh of energy annually, equivalent to 5,496 m³ of natural gas, protecting the environment and ensuring long-term cost efficiency.

Reducing Water Usage

We employ innovative, water-saving technologies in our guest rooms, such as low-flow faucets and showerheads, to reduce water consumption while maintaining guest comfort.

Selective Waste Management

We carefully separate waste during our operations to ensure proper recycling. This minimizes environmental impact and reduces landfill waste. Additionally, we strive to reduce plastic use and employ eco-friendly packaging materials.

Sustainable Oil and Fat Usage, Filtered Water, Local Suppliers

Our kitchen uses only health-safe oils and fats, avoiding palm and coconut oils. Our fryer oil is liquid, heats quickly, saving time and energy, and its lifespan is remarkably long, reducing usage by half with proper care.

We bottle high-quality filtered water (Accent Aqua) at our hotel and restaurant, offering an eco-friendly alternative to plastic bottles. Guests can purchase decorative walking flasks at reception and refill them with filtered water free of charge during their stay.

64% of our supplier partners are Hungarian businesses, with 36% being local, artisan, or regional enterprises, supporting the local economy and reducing transportation-related ecological impact.

Eco-Friendly Cosmetic Products

Our in-room amenities, including shower gels, hand soaps, and shampoos, are premium ADA products. Their larger packaging reduces waste. ADA products are made from high-quality ingredients, 97% biodegradable, and meet strict EU standards.

They contain no parabens, silicone oil, animal-based ingredients, alcohol, or genetically modified materials and are cruelty-free. ADA’s packaging is made from recycled and/or recyclable PET or PCR materials, and manufacturing complies with strict standards, certified by ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, and EcoCert.

Reducing Paper Usage

Our paper towel dispensers are designed to release a specific length, reducing waste by preventing overuse.

In our rooms, we minimize paper use by providing guest information via QR codes and our website.

Handcrafted Coffee

Our restaurant serves Enzo Bencini artisan coffee, sourced from small, chemical-free family farms. The coffee plants are cultivated for longer periods, producing richer flavors. Coffee beans are carefully selected, stored in jute bags, and roasted traditionally in double-wall roasters without direct flame. The roasting is freshly done each month to ensure optimal taste and richness.

Vegetarian, Vegan, and Allergen-Free Options

Our breakfast buffet and menus include allergen labels, along with creative vegetarian and vegan options, ensuring a wide variety for all guests.

Training and Awareness

We provide ongoing sustainability training for our staff to ensure the best practices are consistently implemented. We aim to inspire our guests to adopt eco-friendly habits, as collective efforts can create a greater impact.
